Activeworx releases Security Center security manager
Activeworx’s Security Center (ASC) is a security information manager and security analyzer that is used to diagnose and solve information security needs. ASC works in both a centralized and distributed framework to perform event management, event correlation, reporting and detailed forensic analysis.

Using ASC, users can view security events, create reports, perform event correlation and view the overall security status of their security infrastructure. ASC offers an interface that provides powerful features to security analysts. These features provide security event management and also detailed forensic analysis. The interface allows drill down functionality throughout the different displays to traverse large amounts of data focusing on specific details.

ASC Report Center allows the user to quickly generate reports for investigative or compliance purposes. These reports detail the overall security posture, give historical reporting and report on any incidents of interest. ASC comes bundled with compliance reports for GLBA, Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI and HIPAA.

ASC also allows users to add unlimited number of event databases to its view. This gives users the ability to have centralized databases and distributed databases throughout their environment. Once a database is added, users can correlate events from other databases throughout the security infrastructure.

ASC also includes powerful collectors to process events from virtually any device using Syslog, SNMP, OPSEC, RDEP, SQL, XML, FTP, SFTP and WMI. These protocols allow ASC to collect events from over 60 different security devices on a network. They also allow users to quickly create their own custom rules.

System requirements for ASC includes a Pentium 4 CPU or later, at least 512MB and at least 250MB of storage. The system runs under Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/XP and also requires .Net Framework version 2.0 and above. For database usage, users will need at least 500MB and need to have installed MySQL 4.x, 5.x, Microsoft SQL 2000, 2005 database servers.
