HP’s latest printer is designed for your smartphone

HP Inc.’s latest wide-format color printer is made specifically for small businesses, and can be used through employees’ smartphones, tablets, or laptops via the HP Smart app.

The OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-in-One printer is mobile-enabled with all the features you would expect from a printer that is designed for color brochures, decks, documents, etc. The Smart app allows anyone to connect to the printer through their smartphone, allowing for quicker printing options.

The wide format updates allow for paper sizes up to 11 x 17 inches (A3), and uses a 35 page automatic document feeder for two-sided printing and generally faster printing processes. Of course, you can scan, copy, and fax on the device as well. The printer is compatible with HP’s high yield ink cartridges that HP says can print three times more black text and two times as many color pages.

And with the Smart app, you don’t necessarily need to connect to the printer via a network. The app can be connected directly to the printer from your phone.

The OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-in-One printer is available today for a resounding $199 USD. The HP Smart app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

In the printing spectrum, HP has been busy the last few months. It introduced a new Sprocket photo printer and app for more mobility printing options, and upgraded its LaserJet Enterprise printer portfolio.

Last week, HP revealed its latest Point-of-Sale (POS) system that highlights security in retail and hospitality.
