HP reveals updated OfficeJet, LaserJet models, new line of business printers

HP Inc. has announced more than 15 new printer models that it will be releasing between April and September this year – including a new line, PageWide, based on groundbreaking technology that can print up to 75 professional-quality colour documents per minute.

Updated versions of the company’s signature OfficeJet and LaserJet models were also revealed, along with a new security-based printing service.

Actual printing times vary by model, with the PageWide Enterprise Color 556 and PageWide Enterprise Color MFP 586 each capable of delivering up to 75 pages per minute, or 15,000 pages a month. Both are expected to be released in May, with the Color 556 selling for $749 and the MFP 586 running for $1999.

Other variations of new PageWide line, all of which have been designed for small businesses and work groups, will include:

HP is also introducing Secure Managed Print Services, a new security-based offering that helps businesses secure their print environment using such tools as built-in security software, data encryption, and HP Quick Assess, a free one-hour phone session that will assess a printer network’s vulnerability.

Finally, the company revealed the latest additions to its two most popular lines – OfficeJet Pro, aimed at the small and home business markets, and LaserJet Pro, aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses:
