Former TransGlobe CEO helms new online property management startup

Toronto-based startup PropertyVista Software Inc. is getting set to launch its cloud-based property management software Aug. 20, the firm announced this week.

Designed to assist property managers with anywhere from one to 100,000 rental units, the online portal will handle online payments from tenants, online credit checks, lease applications, maintenance requests and receipts, and more. Landlords will have customizable Web templates so they can design their own page to provide updates to tenants, vacancy notices, and other information.

The service isn’t live yet but PropertyVista has been running a beta program. It’s been used by firms such as Blue Ridge Realty, a Toronto-based firm that runs a full-service property management boutique. Visa has been announced as an online payment supplier. PropertyVista is looking to reduce the amount of late payments that landlords get by setting up online payments that will allow options to pre-pay, pay now with debit, or pay later with credit.

PropertyVista’s introductory video explains its service.

The founder and CEO of Property Vista is Leonard Drimmer, who was formerly CEO at TransGlobe Property Management, now known as Starlight Apartments. It is one of Canada’s largest asset management firms and has a portfolio of 10,000 apartments and more than 4 million square feet of customer space.

Other online property management firms currently available include SparkMatrix and Propertyware.
