Follow Friday – 3 people in mobile payments, marketing, and gadgetry

Every Follow Friday, we round up a list of people with active Twitter accounts, ones that we feel are worth a click on the ‘follow’ button.

This week, we’re focusing on people from a variety of different backgrounds – mobile payments, digital marketing, and gadget reviews.

Brian Deck, CEO and co-founder of SmoothPay
As the CEO of SmoothPay, a Toronto-based startup helping businesses accept mobile payments via its app and a QR code, Deck regularly tweets about entrepreneurship, as well as the news and headlines of what’s happening in tech and, more locally, in Toronto. Oli Gardner, co-founder and creative director at Unbounce
If there’s one thing that Gardner doesn’t like, it’s poorly-constructed landing pages. He’s vented about that anathema in a recent blog post on Unbounce’s site, describing some of the worst ways marketers can set up those pages. As for tweets, Gardner doesn’t soft-pedal his opinions – he tweets about tactics in social media marketing and content marketing, as well as some thoughts on his own interests, like UFC matches.

As a contributor to ITBusiness.ca, Alex Davies has written up some pretty popular reviews on some of the new ultrabooks out there, with his piece on the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 racking up its fair share of hits. On Twitter, Davies tweets about new phones, smartwatches, and sometimes the World Cup.

Check out his take on the Surface Pro 3 here.
