Express IT: New Web domains good for trust

The Internet will soon look very different.

ICANN, the non-profit organization that manages top-level domain names on the Internet, is opening up the space to the right of the last dot. So instead of the current handful of generic top-level domains that include dot-com and dot-net, there will soon be thousands of different names. None have gone live yet, but applicants for the new registries are planning domains that include .lol, .blog, and .love.

Some critics say the whole process is just a cash grab. But there are some benefits to opening up the Internet’s domain name space. We cover them in our latest Express IT video:
