If you’ve ever been stymied from giving a presentation because you couldn’t find the right cable to connect with the projector, then you’ll appreciate the ability to wirelessly link up.
Epson’s iProjection app allows for a wireless connection with its PowerLite and BrightLink projectors. It’s been available on iOS devices since earlier this year and yesterday an Android version of the app was released. The app is a free download in the Google Play store.
The app makes Android devices compatible to present with any wired or wireless projector, Epson says. There’s also an annotation feature to focus in on one piece of content appearing on the screen. Users can access files locally stored on their smartphones or display files located in the cloud. The app is compatible with Adobe’s PDF format, JPEG and PNG images, and e-mail services including Gmail. A Web browser is included in the app with standard features like bookmarks and history.
Android tablets or smartphone running Gingerbread version 2.3 or later can install the app. To connect with a projector, users just have to be on the same wireless network and then choose it from the list of devices. The projector can be controlled from the app.
