Dynamic Digital furthers NEC distribution

In a growing effort to boost awareness and sales of NEC’s large format LCD displays, the manufacturer has signed Dynamic Digital Technologies to distribute its products.

The latest expansion of the Public Information Public Display (PIPD) category from NEC Display Solutions includes large format

displays, suitable for digital signage, bulletin board systems and distributed information systems. For Dynamic Digital, a leading distributor of audio-visual products in Canada, the partnership with NEC Display Solutions makes perfect sense. “Their format displays are suitable for some of the audio-visual applications that we are leaders in,” said John Pappas, Dynamic Digital’s vice-president of sales.

And when it comes to the channel, Pappas points out that computer dealers can now access this product more conveniently.

“We’ll have very high stocking levels of all the large format skus, we’re a value-added distributor so we provide quite a bit of product knowledge, connectivity knowledge, mounting knowledge and network knowledge as it relates to distributed video systems.”

According to Pappas most computer dealers are looking for new applications, diversifying themselves away from the PC – not necessarily the PC network – but from the desktop, and this offers a margin and a profit opportunity for computer dealers now.

Bruno Pupo, Canadian regional manager for NEC Display Solutions, sees the benefit of having Dynamic Digital as a partner.

“They’ve carved out themselves a good niche within the lifestyle products type of sales within the display category,” he said.

“Dynamic Digital is a fairly new player to the market in Canada but from a branding perspective they’ve been carrying the NEC products for quite some time through the other NEC arm (NEC Visual Systems) so having our products in addition to those gives a full NEC solution and a full NEC product offering through one distributor,” said Pupo.

“Dynamic Digital supplies a lot of other components which is important to us as a manufacturer because we don’t have every component like a wall mount or cabling, special speakers or other things that would drive the display to be best utilized in a certain application.”

Pappas also admits that key elements include product knowledge, application expertise and acting as a one-stop shop for a company to get a complete system.

“It’s very new to their product line so we’re looking to be the leader in this area,” Pappas said.
