If you’re a remote worker that is used to turning any local coffee shop you find into a personal office for the day, then you’ll want to check out a new free app from Citrix Systems Inc.
Spun out of the Citrix Startup Accelerator program and winner of a recent contest the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based software company hosted, Cubefree taps into the Foursquare API with the objective of finding you the closest productivity refuge. Specifically, it indexes cafes, libraries, and co-working spaces around the world and then directs you to the best near-by options.

There’s more to app than that:
- Not only will you be able to find nearby cafes, but see what amenities it has that are key for your productivity. Namely free and reliable Wi-Fi, power outlets, parking spots, and ambient noise levels.
- Similar to Foursquare, you can see what other Cubefree users are checked in at a location. Knowing that other professionals are in the same boat (or in this case, coffee shop) as you can be helpful. Maybe you’ll find that freelance graphic designer you need to get a website together, or just a buddy to keep an eye on your stuff when you run up to the counter for more coffee.
- Cubefree users might just find opportunities to claim extra discounts and special offers that co-working spaces or even coffee shops use to incent you to choose their venue.
