CIRA launches DNSSEC knowledge centre

A while back, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority rolled out a tool called Domain Name System Security Extension (DNSSEC) to counter the growing instances of Web spoofing.

DNSSEC provides businesses on the Internet with an additional layer of security for the Domnain Name System (DNS) – the service that that translates domain names into Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. CIRA maintains the DNS name servers for all dot-ca domain names and processes over 300 million requests per day to connect Internet users with more than one million dot-ca domain names.

Today CIRA launched a DNSSEC knowledge centre to help businesses learn more about how they can take advantage of DNSSEC.
This DNSSEC knowledge centre includes the following:

CIRA is also providing development support to the openDNSSEC project.

CIRA will be signing the .CA zone in 2012. This will lead to signing .CA zone files beginning in 2013 that will further protect Canadian consumers and businesses. For more details please click on cira_dnssec@cira.ca.
