CANADA LAGS

Canadian firms on average spend less than half of what a U.S. company spends on IT for each employee, says a new report commissoned by the Information Technology Association of Canada: A total of $1,468 for It per Canadian worker versus $3,253 per worker in the U.S.
Some of the gap is a result of Canada’s industrial structure which consists of “less IT-intensive sectors” and more small businesses which tend to spend less on IT acknowledges the report. Nevertheless, effective policies are required to correct the situation, the report also recommends.
