The Canadian Internet Registration Authority made a new pitch to Canadian municipalities recently – register your own top level domain and CIRA will run it for you. After all, it’s worked for other cities that have built up international brands, so why shouldn’t some well-known Canadian cities try to jump on the domain bandwagon? While some cities like Toronto and Montreal may seem like obvious candidates for the service, let’s face it – some towns will just never want to cram their names into a URL.
