Emulex introduces 8Gb/s fibre channel products

Emulex Corp. announced plans to deliver an 8Gb/s product series that provides enterprise-class end users with the ability to transition to next-generation Fibre Channel storage area networks(SANs). The 8Gb/s PCI Express-based product series, including Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) and an Embedded I/O Controller (IOC), is designed to offer security, data integrity and virtualization features, while maintaining backward compatibility with existing 4Gb/s and 2Gb/s Fibre Channel SANs. PeopleCube integrates resource management capabilities into third-party solutions
PeopleCube announced the release of an API (Application Programming Interface) for Resource Scheduler. This API integrates robust resource scheduling capabilities with external applications.

PeopleCube’s Resource Scheduler API is Web-services compliant, allowing partners to integrate Resource Scheduler’s features into their existing application.

The Resource Scheduler API has also been used to integrate resource management capabilities into on-site reservation kiosks in support of an office hoteling (also referred to as hot desking or flexible workspace) environment. By using the Resource Scheduler API, organizations can integrate Resource Scheduler into these reservation kiosks, enabling remote employees and other visitors to search for available workspace and reserve them on-site.

Additionally, the Resource Scheduler API is used to integrate Resource Scheduler into display devices such as PolyVision’s RoomWizard. This allows users to leverage these displays to not only view a meeting room’s schedule with times, dates, topics, meeting host and more, but also reserve the meeting room on the spot based on its availability.
