AMD announced availability of AMD Opteron processor
AMD announced availability of AMD Opteron processor models in 68 watt and mainstream 95 watt thermal envelopes.

AMD has expanded the breadth of its solutions with AMD Opteron processor Models 1218 HE, 2218 HE and 8218 HE. AMD Opteron HE processor models now include three 1000 Series models. All of the processors feature AMD PowerNow! technology which is designed for reduced system level energy consumption, with multiple levels of lower clock speed and voltage states.

AMD Opteron processor Models 2220 and 8220 (2.8 GHz) are now immediately available in the 95-watt thermal design power.

The AMD Opteron processors will complement and are designed to enable a seamless upgrade path to AMD’s quad-core processors, codenamed “Barcelona.” For pricing information, visit www.amd.com/pricing.

Data Apples releases ReverseConnect technology

Data Apples Corp. announced the release of its ReverseConnect technology. ReverseConnect Professional offers service providers the ability to send out a support invitation directly from Beyond Remote to a remote user. When the user clicks on the embedded link, they initiate a support session and the service provider can take control of their computer.

Beyond Remote runs as an application on the user’s computer. The program leverages Data Apples’ Web-services to offer support professionals a direct connection to the remote user’s computer, without backhauling any data.

Beyond Remote 2.0 with ReverseConnect runs on Windows 98/NT/XP/ME/2003 and is priced as low as US$19.95 for a single user licence to US$499.95/year for the ReverseConnect Professional remote support solution.
