Oorja announces SwiftCompare v.1.1

Oorja Software has released SwiftCompare v. 1.1, a Windows application that lets you visually compare, merge and synchronize files and folders.

When comparing files, SwiftCompare lets you define what you’re looking for. Software developers can tell the program to ignore such things as source code comments, and leading and trailing blocks of spaces. The program will do a line-by-line comparison of two versions of any file, and all comparisons will respect user-defined criteria for determining if the files are the same or different. The built-in right-click menu even lets you perform instant file and folder operations such as copy, move, delete and rename.

The program can pay attention to, or ignore, such things as the date and time the files were modified, the contents of the files and their size. The program can even deal with the time incompatibilities between FAT and NTFS files. This customizable compare and merge engine lets you find only the relevant differences between files and folders, and merge and synchronize them according to each user’s specific needs. A name-filtering system lets you include or exclude files and folders that need not be included in your comparisons

SwiftCompare takes all the tension out of working with multiple computers in several locations. The program also works with all types of files, including text, graphics, word processing files and spreadsheets.

SwiftCompare v. 1.1 runs under Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003 at US$27 for a single-user licence, and may be ordered securely online from http://www.oorjasoftware.com/. Multi-user discounts are available. You can download a free 30-day trial version from the company’s Web site.
