Name: Cory Coley-Christakos
Title: Head of Marketing, Canada
How long have you been in your role?
I’ve been leading the marketing team in Canada for four years. Having joined SAP to pursue my love of technology, I’ve enjoyed a variety of marketing and consulting roles across the organization.
What’s your favourite smartphone app and why?
Netflix: it has a beautiful, intuitive user interface to on-demand content and personalized offers, and it satisfies my need for entertainment anywhere, anytime. Audible is the app I use most often to catch up on my business reading (listening), MarketingProfs is another of my favourites, and I love paying for my coffee with my smartphone at Starbucks.
What is the most significant way you see the marketing field changing in the next five years?
Technology will be a significant driver of change – from our expectations to our capabilities, and from the skills we need to build to the investments we will make. Marketers that are experienced and skilled in technology will be more influential in the strategic direction of a company because they can tap into advanced insights, including the real-time voice of the customer.
Do you have a morning routine? If so, what does that look like?
It changes on a daily basis, but two things are consistent: social networks and coffee. I like Twitter for breaking news and emerging trends, and by the time I’m finished my coffee, I’m up to date.
