6 battery saver and fast charging apps

Isn’t it annoying when it’s still 3 pm and your phone is about to die? This is especially true when you need to call someone or access email urgently on the go. For all power users (no pun intended) here is a post which lists out apps which can help your phone charge faster, run longer and save precious battery juice.

1. DU Battery Saver
With 6 million ratings that average 4.5/5 on the Android app store alone, this is probably the most downloaded power saver app. There are many others on this list, but DU Battery Saver provides a lot of customization. You can utilize its power saving modes such as sleep, general and long standby. Besides these, you can set up your own customized mode for your needs.

What makes this app interesting is that you can schedule these modes based on the time of day. So when you are at work and only need your phone for calls, you can keep the brightness and the screen timeout time low. Other times you can schedule it to opperate differently.

2. JuiceDefender
This used to be my favorite app for battery saving. It helps you control power usage by managing phone connectivity, Wi-Fi and even CPU speed. Just like DU Battery Saver, you can choose one of many power saving profiles or create a customized one to suit your needs. JuiceDefender also lets you choose which apps connect to the Internet and which ones don’t in an easy to use interface.

3. One Touch Battery Saver:
If you are not someone who likes tinkering around with apps and want a one click solution, this is the app you may want to install. One Touch Battery Saver helps you save battery when it begins to run low. It automatically stops major battery drainers such as Wi-Fi, GPS and other battery-hungry apps.

4. Battery Doctor
This app helps you find out what are the phone functions that are draining your battery. For international users, it supports 27 languages. Besides that, it provides estimates for a variety of situations. For example, it will tell you how long your battery will last with Wi-Fi on or off, while playing games, etc. Besides all these features, while you are charging it also reminds you not to overcharge your phone (overcharging just wears your battery out).

5. Autorun Manager:
When you start your phone, there are several apps which start running even if you do not really need them. Autorun manager lets you decide which autostarting apps get killed. Stopping apps which you do not wish to use not only saves precious battery but also saves CPU space and makes your smartphone faster. The app provides basic and advanced mode with the latter being offered to rooted phone owners.

6. Faster charger battery
This app is very different than the other apps in the sense that it helps your phone battery charge faster. The Android app page says that the app manages the voltage of the charge and charges the phone 15-30 per cent faster. It is also advised that you don’t use your phone while charging at the highest levels. All you have to do is launch the app and click on fast charge mode. With this app combined with a battery saver app, you can look forward to eking out some extra juice from your phone to last beyond 3 pm.
