Canadian agencies recognized for Facebook campaigns

Two Canadian advertising agencies are probably getting a lot of “likes” on Facebook today after being recognized at the Facebook Studio Awards.

The awards are given out annually (this is the second batch of them) to the best campaigns run on Facebook. Members of Facebook’s creative council gathered in New York in late March to judge entries from 59 countries in late March. The focus this year was more on content and story-telling rather than application development, according to the Facebook Studio page.

Reason Partners won a bronze award for its “Paint Chips Names for Men” campaign. It encouraged visitors to CIL’s Facebook page to come up with a more masculine name for a paint colour. Those who did received a $10 coupon off their next purchase of CIL Smart paint at Home Depot.

Taxi was on the shortlist for its “Merry Under the Mistletoe” campaign with Telus Corp.
