Welcome to the new ITBusiness.ca

New design, new structure, new and exciting content, and several new ways to access the news and information that matter to you – the redesigned ITBusiness.ca site offers you all that…and more.

The process that has reached fruition today began many months ago. Actually it started with a choice of a tag line.

We wanted something that – in the fewest words possible – captured what we are all about, what you can count on when you visit our site.

So after much brainstorming we selected: “Business Advantage through Technology.”

This tag line not only defines our mandate – in a very real way it serves as a rallying force for our entire team as we work together to bring you the very best content – stuff you can use immediately to get the edge in your business, or in your job as a knowledge worker.

Tech-focused online brands abound. But our mandate goes beyond that.

So the new ITBusiness.ca isn’t necessarily about describing the hottest – or coolest – technologies or products, though in a specific context we may well do that.

Our approach at ITBusiness.ca is distinctly business like (pun intended).

The editorial team at ITBusiness.ca – Nestor Arellano, Brian Jackson and I – along with our freelancers and contributors, strive to ensure that all our content, wherever it appears on our site, and however it’s packaged, offers every visitor to our site some business advantage.

This could be crucial information on products or technologies that improve your performance, ideas on how you could enhance some aspect of personal/corporate productivity, strategies for harnessing technology to serve your customers better or achieving faster speed to market; features and case studies on best practices to emulate or pitfalls to avoid; interviews with experts; tutorials et al.

Various sections of our new site – as well as the site design itself – reflect this focus on business advantage through technology.

A word about design…

Credit for the compelling layout as well as the ease with which you can navigate through the site goes to our Web developer Jeff Radecki, whose efforts produced many of the great features you experience on the new site – such as significantly quicker page load times.

Apart from the clean, streamlined look, the re-designed site allows you to get to the information you need very quickly.

For instance, the nine main section tabs are right at the top of the site – so you can zero in right away to the stuff you want.

Likewise on most the five top stories of the day are available to you the moment you hit the home page even before you start scrolling.

Choice is the name of the game when it comes to content.

We offer you select Line of Business content, compelling Case Studies, a Product Centre that includes a wide range of material – everything from expert reviews to hands on tutorials.

And we don’t just say it with words but with multimedia as well.

Check out the new – and regularly updated – Video Section of our site for multimedia coverage of top industry events (such as IT360, SAP Sapphire, the Canadian Innovation Xchange), presentations by industry experts and more.

That’s just a glimpse into what the new site has to offer.

It’s is a work in progress and we’re counting on your feedback.

We’re very keen to hear your views, suggestions, ideas on how we can make ITBusiness.ca even more compelling and useful to you.
