Video Rewind: Kindle 2 launch revisited

Amazon was turning heads yesterday with the launch of its Kindle Fire tablet, an Android-based device that goes above and beyond the typical features found in its other Kindle e-readers.

Since Amazon unleashed its first e-reader on the market several years ago, it’s been updating its technology at a rapid clip. Many tech watchers started being impressed when Amazon updated its design with a more slender and portable device in March 2009. The Kindle 2 sported more storage, a new and more crisp display, and even an text-to-speech feature that could read books to you.

Before the Kindle Fire, there was the Kindle 2.
