Video Rewind: Compaq all-in-one desktop recognizes your face

Just last month, HP looked ready to kill off its Personal Systems Group and bury the TouchPad along with it. But things change quickly, especially with new CEO Meg Whitman at the helm.

Now HP is keeping its PC-manufacturing arm and releasing the Slate 2 tablet, focused on a business market. Though it’s not clear yet what sort of features will be included with the tablet, it’s a safe bet videoconferencing will be one of them. Perhaps HP will also build in facial recognition security, as it did with this Compaq 6000 Pro all-in-one desktop, from October 2010:
