Elcomsoft announces password recovery
Elcomsoft has added Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) support to Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery. The program offers administrators a comprehensive solution for recovering passwords to Microsoft Office documents when employees forget their passwords or when they deliberately add passwords to documents in an effort to sabotage their companies. The latest version can handle PGP encryption, including PGP secret key rings (.SKR files), PGP disks (.PGD files), and PGP self-decrypting archives.

EAST Technologies announces East-Tec Eraser 2006
EAST Technologies has released East-Tec Eraser 2006, a Windows application that protects user data. The product permanently removes any files the user wants erased, as well as all information about the user’s Internet activities from their computer.

Different Internet browsers store private information in different places. East-Tec Eraser 2006 works with all popular browsers, including Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, America Online, MSN Explorer, and Opera. It also works with all of the popular peer-to-peer programs, including Kazaa, Kazaa Lite, iMesh, Napster, Morpheus, Direct Connect, Limewire, and Shareaza. In addition, East-Tec Eraser 2006 supports ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Microsoft Office, Google Toolbar, and many other popular programs.

East-Tec Eraser 2006 runs under Windows XP/2003/2000/NT/Me/98 and costs US$49.95 for a single-user licence and may be purchased securely online from the company’s site. The program is also available as part of a US$69.95 suite of security applications from EAST Technologies. An evaluation copy is available on request.

AusLogics BoostSpeed
AusLogics, Inc. announces a version of BoostSpeed, a PC optimization tool.

AusLogics has designed BoostSpeed to remedy the programming errors and effects of spyware within a PC that can decrease system performance. BoostSpeed optimizes Internet connections for all formats and cleans and maintains the Windows registry, blocks banner ads with its Banner Killer feature, tweaks communication utilities like ICQ, MSN Messenger and Outlook Express, and others.

AusLogics offers a 15-day trial of BoostSpeed and registration costs US$24.95. Registered users will enjoy free technical support. A Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/2003/XP/NT platform is required.

BEA Systems announces AquaLogic Data Services Platform 2.1
BEA Systems Inc. announced the AquaLogic Data Services to complement its plans for an integrated suite for service-oriented architecture (SOA).

ALDSP 2.1 is designed to help application developers and SOA architects automate the process of enabling their data to build composite applications such as Web applications and portals. The product now features support for Microsoft ADO.NET, providing tooling and runtime support designed for transparent interoperability with .NET applications. This new feature gives users the ability to access and update data through the ADO.NET standard to multiple back-end data sources.

AquaLogic Data Services Platform is 2.1 is available now.
