John Elias said he will be leaving to pursue other opportunities. Elias, who first joined the firm in 1989, left once before for the United States. He returned two years ago to the Canadian office and led the technology practice after the departure of Rob Ireland to an internal position

at Compaq Canada (now HP Canada). No replacement has been named.


Weber Shandwick

Tina Quelch left the firm at the end of last year to pursue new opportunities. Quelch, who had previously worked for several years with Cohn & Wolfe, moved to Weber Shandwick under Michael O’Connor-Clarke, who also left the firm last year. Quelch said she plans to open an independent PR consulting firm, Calador Communications, through which she will hunt for new clients.


Centrepoint Technologies

Chris Brennan has replaced Catherine Larrivee as media and PR manager at Centrepoint Technologies, manufacturer of the TalkSwitch line of products for small businesses.


PAN Communications

Steve Jones was promoted to Account Manager. Jones joined PAN in 2000 with seven years experience in corporate communications and journalism. At PAN, he has worked across all four of the agency’s portfolios, leading several media and analyst tours.


Porter Novelli Canada (Formerly Benchmark Porter Novelli)

Derek Baker was promoted from consultant to senior consultant in the company’s consumer technology practice, based in the Toronto office.


Hill & Knowlton Canada

Amy Diniz has joined the corporate communications team as senior consultant. Diniz, who previously worked with short-lived H&K spinoff iContact Communications, was previously an account supervisor at Manifest Communications.
