A ADSL router for connection to a PC or Network with an RJ11 WAN port that connects to the ADSL/ADSL2 line. The product’s four 10/100Mbps RJ45 ports can be connected to a network hub or switch to expand the number of people sharing the ADSL connection at home or in the office.

Reporting improvements

Version 7.3 of Best Software‘s ACCPAC Pro Series accounting system offers better information reporting, automated routine processing functions and inventory forecasting. Other improvements include: National Accounts functionality in the Accounts Receivable module (Enterprise Edition); a new Intercompany Transactions module (Enterprise Edition); new data management features; and enhanced manufacturing modules. ACCPAC Pro Series 7.3, Enterprise and Small Business Editions start at US$995 per module, with the new Intercompany Transactions module (available for the Enterprise Edition only) priced at US$1,995.

All-in-one storage

EMC Corp.‘s new lower-cost models of its EMC Celerra network attached storage (NAS) systems offer improved application connectivity via iSCSI as well as enhanced management capabilities. The Celerra NS500 system is an entry point into the Celerra NAS family. The Celerra NS500 system, available in gateway and integrated models, has a list price of US$40,000 for a 1TB, single data mover, integrated configuration, with CIFS and SnapSure.

Flexible recording options

Both of BenQ Canada‘s new DW1610 and DW1620 DVD 16X rewritable drives feature dual-format capabilities. The DW1620 also comes double-layer (DL) ready and equipped to handle DL DVD+R capacities up to 8.5GB. Both drives feature 16X DVD+R speeds, DVD+RW and DVD-RW write speeds of up to 4X and DVD-R write speeds of up to 12X. New double-layer recording technology nearly doubles the storage capacity of traditional single-layer DVD recordable media, according to BenQ. Estimated pricing is $189.99 for the DW1610 and $229.99 for the DW1620.

Pint-sized projector

The VPL-CS7 projector from Sony of Canada Ltd. is a pint-sized product that meets the needs of customers who want a transportable, lightweight design and the flexibility to make presentations in rooms with challenging lighting conditions and limited space. Weighing in at six pounds, four ounces, the VPL-CS7 features a high brightness level (1800 ANSI lumens) and an enhanced zoom lens with a focal length of 2.3m. Frequently used buttons have been relocated to the top panel for quick access. The VPL-CS7 projector costs $2,299.
