Microsoft debuts muiltitenant CRM
Microsoft announced that it is previewing the release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM – code-named “Titan.”

This version introduces a multitenant architecture and uses a single code base to support on-premise deployments as well as software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployments through hosting partners and through the upcoming Microsoft Dynamics Live CRM service. It also uses a single code base to support on-premise deployments as well as software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployments through hosting partners and the upcoming Microsoft Dynamics Live CRM service.

The “Titan” TAP program includes approximately 300 partners in the first quarter of 2007 and will include over 1,000 partners in the second quarter of the year. Partners in the “Titan” TAP program are building vertical applications, SaaS mash-ups, integration connectors and other solution extensions, as well as providing valuable feedback to Microsoft as part of the program.

The “Titan” release of Microsoft CRM and the Microsoft Dynamics Live CRM service are targeted for mid-2007. The Microsoft Dynamics Live CRM service will initially be available in North America; plans for international expansion of the service will be announced at a later time.

Acritum provides file sharing via browser

Acritum Software has released Femitter HTTP-FTP Server 1.0, a file sharing application for Windows.

You won’t need to install anything at all because any Web browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla FireFox will be enough for them to download your files or upload their files to your computer via Internet or LAN.

You may protect the access to your server by creating user accounts with passwords. Every user may have his/her specific folders for browsing, uploading and downloading files and his/her specific read and write permissions inside these folders.

Acritum Software gives you a static URL like http://yourname.femitter.com, which will redirect your users to your computer, even if you have a dynamic IP address.

Femitter Server runs on Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/2003. The product bundle costs US$49.95 and includes the server software with free lifetime updates as well as the registration of the http://yourname.femitter.com domain for one year. You can download a fully functional trial version and get a free account to test redirection on Acritum Web site: http://www.acritum.com/.

Sonasoft protects SQL data

Sonasoft Corp. announces the availability of its version of SonaSafe for SQL Server. This release contains many features including failover/failback mechanism and script execution before and after a backup task.

Sonasoft protects data from hardware/software failures and human errors. SonaSafe application maintains the standby server by continually updating the data with that retrieved from the primary system. The standby system can take over instantly in the event of primary system failure. The standby system can be on-site or located at a remote site for protection against natural or man-made disasters.

To create a Microsoft Log Shipping plan, a full backup and full restore need to be run in order to initialize the log shipping operation. When the old primary site or source server comes back up, users can set up a standby plan in the reverse and there is no need to perform the full backup and full restore.

With Sonasoft SonaSafe for SQL Server’s functionality to trigger script execution before or after a backup task, administrators can create plans and tasks that will automatically perform any management task prior to or directly after running a particular backup operation.
