LinkedIn the social platform of choice for B2B marketers: survey

Business to business marketers may spend a lot of time on Facebook, but ask them what platform is the most important to their business and LinkedIn is actually the clear winner.

According to a new report on social media marketing from the Social Media Examiner, Facebook is the most commonly used platform for both B2B and business to consumer marketers, with usage levels of 88 per cent and 96 per cent, respectively.

However, when you ask marketers which social platform is the most important to them, 41 per cent of B2B marketer respondents named LinkedIn, compared to the 30 per cent that ranked Facebook at the top.

That’s in contrast to marketers in the B2C world, where 65 per cent cited Facebook as their most important social platform for business purposes, well ahead of Twitter at 10 per cent and LinkedIn at nine per cent.
