Ideal Rebels, PGA Tour create social game

Vancouver-based digital marketing firm Idea Rebel has partnered with professional golfers’ organization PGA Tour Inc. once more in developing a golf-themed social game for Facebook and mobile devices.

The 2011 Matchups Game featured head-to-head weekly matchups between some of the games’ best players, where users would make their selections via Facebook each week throughout the PGA Tour season.

The 2012 version builds on this by allowing players to make picks via mobile devices on the go. Users also now have the ability to create custom mini tournaments, where they can compete with friends and colleagues of their choice.
Also new this year is a grand prize draw that will award one lucky fan a shopping spree of $1,500 at Shop.PGATOUR.COM.

Fans enter the draw based on in-game achievements such as getting perfect picks in a week playing five weeks in a row, referring friends to play, and reaching certain point goals. Additional weekly and season-long prizes will be awarded. No purchase is necessary to play.
