The Royal Canadian Mint is getting ready to roll out money version 2.0.

The pilot project is asking developers to jump on board a challenge with a $50,000 prize. The task is to build apps that make good use of digital currency, with the Mint’s new MintChip software developer’s kit. Here’s some ideas about how digital currency could be helpful to Canada:
