C&N’s fall reading

Looking for some summer reading, but frustrated at how some magazines don’t publish, or reduce their frequency, during the dog days of summer? Then check out Communications & Networking, Canada’s magazine for voice and data networking, a periodical for all seasons.

The August issue has

hit the streets, and it’s jammed with the latest news on spyware, voice over IP regulation, and other issues of interest to telecommunications & IT networking professionals. The wireless LAN feature includes some practical advice for executives thinking of setting up an 802.11 network for voice over IP. The new products section includes information on Novell’s Groupwise 7 beta and Bluecat Networks’ MAC filtering appliance.

Stay tuned for the September issue, which includes a feature article on networked storage and a case study of a large multinational industrial gas company which is using Allstream’s multiprotocol label switching service for its inter-office data networking.

The October issue will include a feature article on utility computing and a case study on Ontario’s Medical Mobile Eye Care Unit, which accesses the Canadian National Institute for the Blind’s corporate network while on the road.

Later this fall, C&N will publish features on remote access in the November issue and telecom regulation in the December issue.
