Clarity offers financial statement reporting software
Clarity Systems announced the launch of Clarity Financial Statement Reporting (FSR), a solution for the creation of an organization’s external financial reporting processes.

Using Clarity FSR, reports are dynamically driven from a central database, while leveraging the formatting capabilities of MS Word – allowing for the production of formatted reports with the appropriate commentary and supplementary notes. Furthermore, templates can be re-used for each reporting cycle to speed up the statutory reporting process.

Clarity FSR also supports numerous output options including XBRL, MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe PDF.

Laplink releases PCmover for Vista

Laplink released its Vista-compatible version of PCmover, the utility that automatically moves programs as well as data files and settings from an old PC to a new PC.

Users of PCmover can migrate from a PC running Windows 95 or any later version to any other version of Windows, including Vista. PCmover even allows for migrations to a Macintosh running Parallels or Apple’s Boot Camp.

Any version of PCmover already purchased can be upgraded free of charge. Users need to use the “Check for Update” functionality available in PCmover after installation on their old and new PCs to download the Vista compatible version of PCmover.

Starting at US$49.95 the Vista compatible version of PCmover is available directly from Laplink at www.laplink.com.

PCmover is also available at major retailers including Amazon, Buy.com, Circuit City, CompUSA, Fry’s, Micro Center, Office Depot, Office Max and Staples.

Adobe updates CAD translators for Acrobat 3D Software

Adobe Systems Inc. announced the immediate availability of a free download for Adobe Acrobat 3D software that delivers updated 3D computer-aided design (CAD) translators.

Acrobat 3D Version 8, an upgrade announced in Sept. 2006, will include the CAD translators provided as part of this update. The upcoming version will deliver enhanced capabilities for producing highly compressed PDF documents with geometry from large CAD assemblies. The product will also enable users to distribute product manufacturing information used to convey geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, annotations and dimensions directly on a 3D model in Adobe PDF. In addition, users will have the option of exporting data from PDF into industry standard formats such as STEP, IGES and Parasolid for use in CAM and CAE applications.

Pricing and Availability
The free Acrobat 3D update is immediately available for download by Acrobat 3D customers from the Adobe Web site at www.adobe.com/go/a3dupdate. The update is available in English, French, German and Japanese language versions. More information on Acrobat 3D is available at www.adobe.com/acrobat3d/. Acrobat 3D Version 8 is expected to ship in Spring 2007. Customers who purchase Acrobat 3D from Sept. 18, 2006 until the ship of Acrobat 3D Version 8 will be eligible to receive a free upgrade to Acrobat 3D Version 8.
