Audi revs electric car engine with synthetic sound

There’s something intrinsically satisfying about stepping down on the gas and hearing a car’s engine rev up in response. But modern electric cars operate in silence, with no fuel-injection engine to make the noise we’re used too.

Not only does that leave drivers feeling unsatisfied, it also creates a risk to pedestrian safety. Without the sound of a car approaching, there’s more risk of accidents. Audi has a solution for its line of electric cars, by adding a synthetic sound. Listen to that engine purr.
