SAP Canada has a new channel boss

Not only does business software vendor SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) have new channel leadership at the global level with the appointment of Eric Duffaut as president, global ecosystem and channel, but SAP Canada has a new channel chief as well: Rene Giguere.

Giguere is taking on the role of vice-president, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) for SAP Canada. He replaces Conrad Mandala, who will remain in Canada but will now assume a U.S.-focused role as national vice-president, SME for the U.S.

It’s a lateral move for Giguere, who previously led the line of business sales team for SAP Canada, and also formerly held the position of regional vice-president for Eastern Canada.

As he takes over the SME and channel role, Giguere will look to continue SAP’s Canadian channel growth in both sales and partner recruitment. In a previous interview with CDN, Manadala outlined SAP’s channel strategy and opportunities for 2011. SAP will also be launching Business ByDesign, it’s on-demand hosted mid-market ERP offering, in Canada later this quarter.
