Coming to a hospital near you: a self-service emergency room

Ever gone to your local emergency room with a minor medical issue, only to spend the better part of the day waiting to be seem by a doctor for five minutes? NCR Canada and partner PharmaTrust hope to speed your next ER visit with self-service technology.

At NCR Canada’s recent Innovation forum in Mississauga, Ont., the two companies highlighted their jointly-developed self-service triage kiosk. Designed to reduce hospital wait times, the machine can record your vitals, connect you to a doctor and a pharmacist via video conference, and even dispense medication.

In this CDN video report, Paolo Del Nibletto learns more about the technology and explores the channel opportunity.
