PwC acquires consulting arm of MTS Allstream

PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada (PwC) has confirmed it has acquired the Professional Services consulting division of MTS Allstream.

The deal will be made official on Feb. 1 of this year and will include about 180 employees most of which have expertise in IT and security.

According to one official inside PwC Canada, these MTS employees will be integrated into the PwC offices in Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City, Edmonton, St. John’s, Halifax, Vancouver and Winnipeg.

This official also said that PwC Canada would not make public the acquisition price for MTS Allstream’s professional consulting group, a subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. at this time.

Also PwC Canada will get all of the MTS’s client contracts as part of the agreement.

Bill McFarland, a National Managing Partner of PwC Canada, said PwC Consulting will now be able to leverage the expertise of this group and their network of vendor and subcontractor relationships to greatly expand our technology service offerings. This acquisition immediately enhances our ability in the marketplace, to provide an expanded base of clients with full-service value from strategy through to implementation.

According to PwC Canada, the combined PwC/MTS team will have expertise in Enterprise Applications, Information Management, Security Consulting and Project Management. The combined customer base will be made up of public and financial services sector clients for the most part.
