Xerox has three questions for the SMB

According to Xerox Canada, small and medium sized companies considering IT investments should answer three basic questions: how will the technology be used; how will it improve business; and how will it move business forward?

The Rochester, N.Y.-based Xerox is putting these questions out in the marketplace because the company does not want them to be overlooked. Xerox said that when these questions are addressed it can give SMBs more confidence in making their IT decisions.

With that Xerox released the WorkCentre 6605 colour multifunction printer targeted at the SMB who are issues with faxing expense reports and scanning HR forms. The new MFP can also produce sales materials such as brochures, fliers and presentations in colour. The new machine has been engineered to fit into small offices. The device’s small footprint is a plus for businesses with space limitations, Xerox claims.

Another feature of the MFP is that scanned files can be automatically shared via email or network folder, or saved directly to a USB memory device.

Xerox has also bolstered document protection with Secure Print, a personal identification numbering system for users to release documents. A front-panel PIN code authentication also protects access to device features.

The WorkCentre 6605 is also wireless and has a large colour touch screen for navigation. The WorkCentre also sports a 550-sheet paper tray and can print up to 36 pages per minute.

The WorkCentre 6605’s built-in colour technology includes Pantone colour and Adobe PostScript 3. Also Xerox uses oil-free EA Toner.

Xerox also released a desktop tabloid printer with the new WorkCentre. Both models are available through Xerox’s channel network in Canada. The estimated retail prices for the WorkCentre 6605 is $1,149. The tabloid printer is $1,799.
