Microsoft boss ballparks Surface pricing

At the recently concluded Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, company CEO Steve Ballmer detailed many aspects of the Surface products except for pricing.

Well looks like he has at least giving potential users a ballpark on what the new Surface product might cost.

Ballmer was interviewed by The Seattle Times last week and said the pricing ballpark for Surface to be $300 to “$700 or maybe even $800.

Ballmer went on to say that the Surface products will be sold inside Microsoft’s fall-season pop-up stores which will be in four malls in Canada starting this fall.

In a wide ranging interview, Ballmer added Microsoft will compete against the rival iPad on features and not so much on price.

Non-Apple tablets are priced around the $400 to $500 mark.
