Tech Data Canada creates a Ruckus

For Tech Data Canada,(NYSE: TECD) its recent partnership with a wireless and mobile internetworking supplier, means the broadliner is looking to capitize on the big opportunity with healthcare.

The market for WiFi-enabled healthcare products could surpass the $5 billion dollar mark in the next three years, according to a research report from ABI Research. That’s an increase of close to 70 per cent compared to what it is today.

Tech Data Canada also believes the availability of Smart WiFi products from companies such as Ruckus Wireless can help solution providers get a competitive advantage not just in healthcare but also in the education and in Government.

The Mississauga, Ont.-based distribtor partnered with Ruckus Wireless mainly to offer the Smart WiFi systems to its solution provider network across Canada. Through the agreement, Tech Data will distribute the entire line of Ruckus ZoneFlex Smart Wireless LAN products throughout the country.

With the availability of Ruckus ZoneFlex systems, solution providers can offer customers in healthcare advanced wireless networking capabilities at a fraction of the cost of other available systems because the products are suited to address today’s high density mobile computing environments, the company said.

The Ruckus ZoneFlex system is the a wireless LAN that combines intelligent RF routing and smart WiFi meshing within a centrally managed architecture. The combination of these technology gives healthcare providers the ability to achieve two to four times the range. These capabilities, according to Tech Data Canada, come at half the deployment time and cost of other systems.

Rob Mustarde, vice president of worldwide sales for Ruckus, said the Tablet Computer Age is upon us, and as a result, businesses everywhere need more robust wireless networks to support the influx of smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices being used by employees and visitors – most of which have no capability to connect to anything except wirelessly.

Greg Myers, vice president of marketing for Tech Data Canada, said the company is seeing pent-up demand for better performing, more scalable and truly cost-effective Wi-Fi systems that remove the deployment and management complexities found in traditional wireless networking solutions.

He added that the addition of the Ruckus ZoneFlex line of products to our distribution offering will help our reseller customers enhance their businesses as they deliver an ideal solution to their enterprise customers.
