Kaspersky CEO addresses Egypt, new investment and Ferrari

Cancun, Mexico – There is no one quite like Eugene Kaspersky, the co-founder and CEO of Kaspersky Lab, in the IT industry.

At the company’s partner conference, held here, Kaspersky was unscripted during his keynote address to partners. At one point he insisted on handing out awards to all partners instead of those who actually won them. He also had a funny exchange with Kaspersky Americas president Steve Orenberg about where the conference would be held in 2011. Kaspersky wanted to go to Hawaii; while Orenberg didn’t wish to commit to a location so early in the process.

Kaspersky was most excited about a marketing partnership between his company and Ferrari Formula 1. He ran out on stage wearing a red-coloured racing jumpsuit with the Kaspersky logo splashed across his chest. CDN caught up with Kaspersky during the conference and asked him about Ferrari, the turmoil in Egypt, the partnership with investment firm General Atlantic and other things. As you will see in this video interview, Kaspersky answers all the questions honestly and then delivers a special message to Canadian channel partners.
