Video Rewind: PayPal’s launch of Website Payments Pro service

As we enter the 2010 Holiday season, it looks like more shoppers than ever will be buying gifts online and avoiding the crowds at malls.

When they do buy those online gifts, many are likely to use their PayPal account to do so. Thanks to its association with popular online auction site eBay, PayPal got off to an early start in the online payments game and has become the defacto payment method of choice for many Web sites.

PayPal has also been working to broaden its appeal with online merchants. It advertises the ability to sidestep many fees associated with merchant transaction accounts. Website Payments Pro was launched February 2009, and IT World Canada was at the launch. Here’s the video.
