Video: One on one with Symantec Canada’s Michael Murphy

Symantec Corp. (NYSE: SYMC) held its annual Vision conference in Las Vegas last week, where the vendor announced four new security solution suites to help businesses gain better insight and control over their data and infrastructures.

The theme of this year’s conference was to “take control” of information by knowing who has access to and who’s responsible for modifying data within an organization.

At this time, the company also announced that it would expand its professional and consulting services offerings by making them available to end-users through its global network of channel partners.

This move was made as an extension to help reduce channel conflict with the company and to help bring in more partner revenue opportunities said Michael Murphy, vice-president and general manager of Symantec Canada.

CDN had a chance to sit down with Murphy at the conference, where he discussed in more detail Symantec’s services roadmap, the importance of being in control of information and where he spoke about branding.
