Asus T91 touchscreen tablet netbook: ‘Fun,’ ‘glorified app launcher,’ ‘not worth wait’

Andrew Nusca shares the thoughts of Laptop magazine, where the Asus T91 touchscreen tablet netbook is discussed.

“We give credit to Asus for innovating; the touch features on the ASUS Eee PC T91 definitely break the netbook mold. However, its underpowered processor results in an underwhelming experience…also, at $499, the Eee PC T91 is $100 more expensive than other netbooks that, while lacking a touchscreen, have larger 10-inch displays, and have batteries that last twice as long.”

Yoni Heisler provides more details on the Apple tablet rumour.

“According to the (Info Times) report, Apple’s tablet will finally be released sometime this October, with Apple planning to have it available in time for the holiday shopping season. It will reportedly have an asking price somewhere in the range of $800, and the display will of course be a touch-screen. In terms of size, Info Times notes that the display will be 9.7-inches, which would make a tad smaller than most popular netbooks.”

Google Voice apps now live on Android and BlackBerry, iPhone en route
Engadget

Chris Ziegler writes about Google Voice and the mobile platforms that will be supporting it.

“As you might expect, the app lets you make calls and send texts through your Google Voice number (great for taking advantage of its mega-low international rates) and integrates with the service’s excellent visual voicemail and voice transcription service. iPhone is on the way, but for now, the BlackBerry (and Android) build should be hitting a pretty wide, interested demographic.”
