Vista SP2 expected next April, says insider site

Microsoft Subnet offers some news around Microsoft’s Vista SP2.
“The same Malaysian Web site that successfully predicted release dates for Vista SP1 and XP SP3 earlier this year, said that Microsoft will finish the Vista SP2 service pack in April and will post a generally available release candidate in February. A release candidate was posted for select testers/developers about a month ago. Vista SP2 will include Windows Search 4, Bluetooth 2.1 wireless support, faster resumption of operations from sleep when a wireless connection has been broken, supporting for UTC time stamps and support for Blu-ray.”

The warranty… is a three-year collect-and-return policy, meaning owners will have to mail in their old notebooks before receiving replacements.”

“All three services are platforms for third party sites (Digg, Twitter, Citisearch, CBS, whatever) to let users sign in via their favorite social network instead of the normal approach. Some profile information flows with the sign in, which the sites can keep for a period of time. And activity that occurs on the site – Twitters written, Digg stories voted on, restaurant reviews on Citysearch, etc.) can optionally flow back to the user’s activity stream.”
