Nitro Microsystems acquires Ontario VAR

Nitro Microsystems Inc., one of Ottawa’s top managed services and solution provider, has confirmed it has acquired OAM Network Solutions, a private company based in Toronto, Ont. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

According to Nitro, OAM Network Solutions is a strategic addition to the company. The acquisition will extend Nitro’s geographical reach and service capabilities and allow the company to provide better service to its enterprise clients.

OAM Network Solutions’ focus on network security, IP Telephony, network storage, and infrastructure management enables Nitro to expand its service offerings, while providing the opportunity to deliver new solutions to clients in the greater Toronto area market.

“The addition of OAM Network Solutions will advance Nitro’s vision of becoming the largest independent managed services provider in Canada,” said Larry Poirier, CEO of Nitro Microsystems, in a prepared statement.

“OAM Network Solutions’ certifications, professional services expertise and client base compliment Nitro and collectively promote our image as a national player with a strong local touch,” Poirier added.

Nitro will now have additional trained engineers certified in Cisco, Microsoft and HP. With this Nitro will have the ability to serve additional clients and take on new service projects in both the greater Toronto area and the National Capital Regions.

“Joining the Nitro family instantly elevates OAM’s advanced technology services to enterprise class at a national level,” said Perry Graham, President of OAM Network Solutions. “With the Nitro suite of services, excellent management and foundation of support systems, OAM can focus on delivering powerful business solutions to new and existing customers. We are very excited about the future and our commitment to excel together.” Not only will all current OAM employees be staying with the new organization, but new positions in sales and service will be created in the greater Toronto area market due to predicted growth levels.

“We believe the market is ripe for continued consolidation. Nitro is actively looking to grow its market share both organically and through additional acquisitions,” Poirier said, adding that he has seen many changes in the market over the past few years.

“Companies who cannot adapt to the market conditions will likely suffer. As a forward thinking company, Nitro Microsystems is always looking for ways to grow and better serve its customers.”
