EDGE (Executives in a Digital Global Economy) is a non-technical, monthly magazine for CEOs, CFOs, CIOs and other senior executives who want to know how information technology can be used to transform their business. Through a combination of case studies, executive profiles and a look at best practices, EDGE not only demystifies IT, it shows how organizations can achieve competitive advantage.
Martin Slofstra is the editorial director of the ITBusiness Group at Transcontinental Media, Canada's largest publisher of information technology-related newspapers and magazines. Titles include Computing Canada, Computer Dealer News, Communications and Networking, Direction Informatique, EDGE magazine, Technology in Government, and ITBusiness.ca, a daily news Web site. He has 20 years experience covering the IT industry in Canada, graduating with an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario in London in 1982, and starting with Northern Telecom as a corporate writer in that same year. He joined Computing Canada as staff writer in 1985. He's also served as Communications Editor and Editor of that magazine. In 1997, he helped launch and became editor of InfoSystems Executive (now called EDGE), Canada's first technology magazine for business executives. Mr. Slofstra regularly moderates panels and makes presentations at trade shows and conferences and other industry events.
Dave Webb is a 13-year veteran writer and editor who has worked for daily and weekly newspapers, magazines and non-profits. He became a technology journalist in 1998, joining the staff of Computing Canada. As editor of eBusiness Journal, he won the prestigious Andersen Consulting Award for Excellence in Business Journalism in the eEconomy category in 2000. Also special projects editor for Transcontinental IT Business Group, Webb writes a biweekly humour column for ITBusiness.ca.
