LaserNetworks, an Oakville, Ont.-based managed print services provider, won this year’s Channel Elite Award for Best Managed Services Solution. Brian Stevenson, president of LaserNetworks, said that as much as the print space appears to be “basic and boring, it takes a lot of work to be good at it.” For the past 13 years, LaserNetworks has made its Cost Per Page program, which helps businesses manage and maximize their cost savings and efficiencies, available to companies across North America. The program is designed for businesses of all sizes, Stevenson said. Part of the service offering includes detailed fleet management reporting and real-time information, which helps customers track their print devices and number of pages that are being processed. The fully integrated database reporting suite provides users with detailed summary reports of their printer fleet environment, even when they’re across several locations, Stevenson explained. The reports can be broken down and categorized by building, division, departments and more, to provide users with better visibility. “Customers will see a 30 per cent reduction in operating costs right away, a reduction on environmental impact and a reduced burden on IT staff,” Stevenson said. “The Cost Per Page program helps companies focus on printing less and reduce their print costs.” Customers can access reports in real-time and at any time, or they can download reports on a monthly, weekly, or even hourly basis. There are currently over 1,000 customers in Canada and more than 50,000 print devices that are using the Cost Per Page program. Some of the market verticals that LaserNetworks plays in include the legal, financial and oil and gas industries. Stevenson says organizations can save between 20 and 40 per cent of total IT and help desk time in addition to printing fleet uptime improvements of at least 20 per cent. In addition to this, IT staff can also focus on other areas of the business instead of having to spend the majority of their time monitoring and managing imaging devices. Stevenson said that while LaserNetworks is direct in most locations, they also rely on a partner network to help support other locations across North America. “I’d say the ultimate test of value is to look at the success rate of being able to retain clients beyond the first contract,” Stevenson said. “Our success rate is beyond 98 per cent. My belief is that you really need to be dedicated to this space in order to do it well. We’re far from perfect, but we dedicate all of our resources and energies to support our customers and the print environment which reconfirms the value we deliver to our clients everyday.” |
