Software founder drives ‘Ferrari’ of human resources solutions

Michael Nicula is the Founder & CEO “HCM Soft”, a SAP HR based software, the creator of Wi-Py.com, an online payment application similar to Paypal, only free of charge, the founder and leader of The Online Party Canada, an officially registered federal political party, and a board member of numerous charities. He is clearly a results driven man with a vision, a mission, and a passion to make a difference.

Nicula describes HCM Soft as a “Ferrari” software solution.  For anyone who likes how really fast cars look or drive, or wishes (like me) that they owned one, Nicula offers a pretty fun way to think about software.  Let’s get behind our imaginary wheel and learn how to access this “software Ferrari” to help better drive your business.

Originally begun in 2001, in 2010 Nicula acquired and repositioned HCM Soft and signed a software agreement with SAP, the world’s largest software company for business planning.  The interface of HCM Soft with SAP provides small and midsize business owners access to affordable and highly effective “Ferrari quality” business software outsourcing solutions that will help “Super Charge” their business and position it for greater profitability and growth.

According to Nicula, HR is considered by some to be very much about “fluff”, is non-quantifiable, and not principally considered a business driver; however, that is incorrect.  HR has a lot to do with numbers, and has its own inherent complexities that are challenging for businesses to manage and execute, such as productivity, recruitment, retention, turnover, training, and so on.  HR therefore has everything to do with people and related systems all of which clearly ARE business drivers.

Payroll is particularly challenging for businesses because of different tax laws by jurisdiction; however, external payroll providers do not provide the functionality to integrate payroll-based information with other HR functionalities that are integral to managing a company’s workforce. As companies’ capacity to manage the people aspect of their business is limited they may find themselves hampered in their ability to grow or expand.

For example, a good retention policy, workforce planning system for workload leveling, knowing what are the skills set of your employees and how to best utilize them are all vital in order to “Super charge your workforce”.

Owners may not know all that their workforce is capable of – resumes get buried and employers don’t know what the skills are that the employee offers, yielding missed opportunities all around.

According to Nicula, “It is critical to do everything you can to take best utilize your current workforce, train them and give them the opportunity they want, pay them properly to ensure retention, and allow them to contribute to your success as a company.”

HCM Soft provides solutions for a range of HR functionalities including HR Administration, Web-based timesheet and expense reporting, payroll, While the outsourcing of these functions is quite common, HCM Soft also offers the outsourcing service for core HR functions such as Benefits Administration, Skills and Qualifications management, Performance reviews, Career Planning, etc.

A key feature is that HCM Soft interfaces with SAP, which is the world’s largest software for business planning.  However, HR is not SAP’s core function as it focuses on financial planning, distribution, and supply chain.  HCM Soft has all the HR functionality built into the software, and having purchased the SAP software licence, HCM Soft can offer it as a shared (cloud) outsourced service to companies that might not be able to afford to own, host and maintain it independently.

The HR Soft functionalities can enable an organization to grow its business by allowing greater efficiencies, and integration of diverse HR functionalities and administration with SAP.

Let’s face it; the purchase and implementation of a SAP system can cost millions.  HCM Soft is integrated with SAP for a fraction of the cost of a SAP solution, and can provide a platform to enable businesses to grow.

So, HCM Soft is like having access to the Ferrari but at a more affordable price.  It can enable business owners to develop the HR capability and capacity, at the same time that they integrate their business processes into SAP.  What an amazing opportunity for business owners to access best-in-class SAP software with fully integrated HR software at a fraction of the cost of a SAP implementation!

Having been involved in HRIS implementations, it is absolutely correct that integration of HR with an organization’s operational software is the ideal interface. However, it is not at all easy to accomplish or achieve.  HCM Soft appears to have successfully provided a bridge and a solution that is within reach of small to midsize companies, at a cost effective price point.

A test-drive, anyone?
